Clarity & Realignment

Spending time in silence and reflecting provides insight and clarity during these times of change. I've already posted about the value of "mental breaks" as a way to stay fresh and sharp.

These reflection periods are my times to ensure my energy and attention are aligned to my values, those principles that guide me daily.

I also reassess if the activities I take on are things that I am passionate about, things that I love to do. If not, it might be time for some internal housekeeping.

I like to think about what I want to experience and achieve and ground those aspirations with my values and passions. This makes it more real and exciting for me in achieving those goals.

The environment I'm in is also important. Does it make me happy, energized and engaged? If not, I change it up, even if it's as simple as adding new artwork or a plant to my office. Or going for a walk on the beach.

Last but not least, during these times of reflection, I look at my patterns of thinking. Are they consistent? Am I thinking, feeling and behaving in ways that reveal and leverage my strengths? Am I considering the affect or impact I may have on others?

Every time I get a new perspective on my behavior, it helps me see myself in a richer, more multi-dimensional way. I stay true to my core being, my spirit, and my gifts.
